25th Anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom

Sen. Robinson standing outside on capitol steps speaking at a podium with images of Operation Enduring Freedom in front of him.

October 7 marked the 25th anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan. I was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with my fellow OEF veterans and colleagues in the General Assembly, Sen. Doug Mastirano (R-33), Rep. Jake Banta (R-4), and Rep. Zach Mako (R-183), to commemorate this meaningful day.

Bill Modernizing Nonprofit Fundraising Now Law

White text: “Robinson’s Bill Modernizing Nonprofit Fundraising Now Law” with a person holding a phone saying “Payment Successful”.

My legislation to support Pennsylvania’s local fire companies, youth sports leagues, VFWs, and other nonprofits by modernizing the small games of chance law was passed by the General Assembly and signed into law.

Senate Bill 416, which I sponsored alongside Sen. Wayne Fontana (D-42), would allow eligible nonprofit organizations to accept electronic payments — such as credit cards, debit cards, and online platforms like PayPal or Venmo — for raffle tickets. Under current law, nonprofits are limited to accepting cash or checks for these transactions, which has made it harder to raise funds in today’s increasingly cashless society.

Pennsylvania’s nonprofit organizations do incredible work in our communities, and we should make it easier for them to raise the funds they need to support their missions. As more people rely on electronic payments, our laws need to keep pace with the way people do business today. This legislation provides nonprofits with more convenient, modern fundraising options while maintaining important safeguards to ensure raffle ticket purchasers meet the legal age requirement.

Sen. Robinson Sworn in as New Member of State Veterans Commission

Sen. Robinson and another new member of the State Veterans Commission with their right hands raised as they’re sworn in by General Pippy.

I am very proud to have been sworn in as a new member of the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ State Veterans Commission (SVC)! One of my top priorities as a senator is to support our nation’s veterans by ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.

I’m looking forward to furthering that goal through the SVC!

Veterans Suicide Prevention and Awareness

Sen. Pennycuick speaking at a podium with Sen. Robinson and others standing behind her in front of a blue curtain.

I was proud to participate in a press conference with my colleagues and fellow veterans, Sens. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24), Gene Yaw (R-23), Greg Rothman (R-34), Doug Mastriano (R-33), and Cris Dush (R-25), to highlight our resolution designating September 2026 as Veteran Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month in Pennsylvania.

Too many of our nation’s heroes face silent struggles – trauma, stress, depression, addiction, and loneliness – that no one should have to handle alone.

This resolution isn’t just about recognizing a month on the calendar – it is about making sure our veterans know their service is remembered, their lives have value, and they are not alone.

Veterans in crisis can call 988 and press 1 or text 838255 for support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Senator Robinson’s Senior Expo

Sen. Robinson shaking hands with two seniors at his Senior Expo event.

I want to thank the guests and vendors who joined us at this year’s Senior Expo at the Library Volunteer Fire Company in South Park Township! We had another fantastic turnout, and I hope attendees found valuable information and resources from our participating organizations. My staff and I were very happy to see all of you, help answer questions, and connect you with local resources. We look forward to hosting you again next year!

Desert Storm Veterans Appreciation Day

In honor of Desert Storm Veterans Appreciation Day on October 7, I want to thank all of the brave men and women who served and sacrificed during this significant mission. May God bless them and their families.

Urging Congress to Pass the Treat PTSD Act

Graphic with the American flag and a military dog tag that says, “Urging Congress to Pass the TREAT PTSD Act” in white letters.

A state Senate panel voted to urge Congress to pass the TREAT PTSD Act this month! This measure would address the urgent mental health needs of veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by expanding access to specialized treatments such as Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) therapy. This treatment relieves feelings of stress quickly for those with PTSD and provides them with a renewed chance to heal.

Thanks to my fellow veterans, Sens. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24), Cris Dush (R-25), Doug Mastriano (R-33), Gene Yaw (R-23), and Greg Rothman (R-34) for joining together in this effort.

Global War on Terrorism Day

On October 7, we recognized the veterans of the Global War on Terrorism. Their service and sacrifice have helped keep our country and its citizens safe from our enemies – and for that, we are extremely grateful.

U.S. Navy’s 251st Birthday

A graphic featuring a Navy ship at sea with the words, “U.S. Navy Birthday” across it.

On Oct. 13, the U.S. Navy celebrated its 251st birthday! Thank you to all the sailors and veterans who have proudly and bravely served – and continue to serve – our great nation at home, at sea, and abroad.

Accelerating Access to Veterans’ Benefits and Employment Opportunities

Documents about military benefits and American flag

Under a recent executive order, federal agencies must update their technology systems and policies to give veterans quicker access to the benefits they earned through their military service.

The Accelerating Access to Veterans’ Benefits and Employment Opportunities Executive Order directs the Departments of War and Veterans Affairs to improve their sharing of military personnel and medical records from the time an individual enlists until they no longer require veterans’ benefits. They must also streamline the application process for and access to benefits for veterans.

The order also requires updates of the Transition Assistance Program and other veteran workforce programs to ensure service members leaving active military service are either connected to a job or enrolled in career and technical education, as well as connected with appropriate veterans’ representatives to assist them with applying for healthcare, disability, home loan, job placement, or education benefits.
