Semper Fi! Robinson Honors 250 Years of the United States Marine Corps at PA State Capitol

This year, we celebrated the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps. To commemorate this incredible milestone, I hosted a ceremony at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. The event featured the U.S. Marine Corps’ traditional cake-cutting ceremony honoring Marine Corps customs and camaraderie. We also highlighted new Marines as they symbolically took their oath to join the Corps on the rotunda steps. Thank you to everyone who joined the ceremony and made it a great success!

Additionally, as a Marine Corps veteran, I was proud to sponsor a resolution to designate Nov. 10, 2025, as Marine Corps Day in Pennsylvania. The resolution honored the 250th anniversary of the Marine Corps’ establishment and reaffirmed Pennsylvania’s deep historical connection to its founding. Tun Tavern, a historic Philadelphia tavern and brewery (1685-1781), is considered the birthplace of the U.S. Marine Corps and permanently links the commonwealth to one of the nation’s most storied military institutions.

Thank you to all our Marines, past and present. Semper Fi! Read more here.

Annual Veterans Breakfast with Representative Mihalek

Representative Natalie Mihalek (R-40) and I want to thank everyone who came to our annual Veterans Breakfast at St. Clair Country Club. It was a pleasure to meet so many local veterans and hear their stories. A special thanks to our speakers for sharing their stories of bravery, courage, and resilience:

  • Vietnam panelists,
  • Patrick Keally – Author of Year of the Rooster Vietnam 1969, Marine Corps combat veteran
  • Eric Thomas – Chair of the Animal Friends for Veterans Ambassadors Council, attorney with offices in Southpointe and Cranberry, Navy veteran
  • Jack Wagner – U.S. Marine Corps veteran
  • Tony Accamando – U.S. Army veteran

Thank you to all the veterans and their families who joined us at the breakfast for being a part of this special day of remembrance and respect.

Franklin Park’s Salute to Veterans

I was honored to join so many of my fellow veterans at the Borough of Franklin Park’s Salute to Veterans breakfast. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with and hear stories from those who served our country with bravery, honor, and distinction.

Bethel Park Chamber’s Annual Veterans Day Luncheon

It was a pleasure to speak with some of our region’s heroes at the Bethel Park Chamber’s annual Veterans Day luncheon. I look forward each year to talking about U.S. and military history with fellow veterans at this event. Thank you to all who served and continue to serve!

Senator Rothman’s Veteran Breakfast

Thank you to my friend, colleague, and fellow Marine Senator Greg Rothman (R-34) for inviting me to speak at his annual veterans breakfast! It was an honor to be among so many fellow veterans to break bread and remember the lessons, camaraderie, and sense of purpose the military gave us.

Veterans Day Events Across the 37th Senatorial District

I am so proud that we live in a region that prioritizes honoring local veterans. There were so many incredible events across the 37th Senatorial District over the last few weeks that celebrated our community’s heroes. Here are some of the events that my staff was grateful to attend:

The students at Thomas Jefferson High School put on a wonderful celebration to recognize veterans in the Jefferson Hills community. Thank you for honoring those who served!

On Veterans Day, South Fayette High School freshman, Jasim Khilji, unveiled his Eagle Scout Service Project, the Alumni Veterans Memorial and Veterans Bench. Congratulations, Jasim, and thank you for honoring the courage and sacrifice of those who served our nation!

Thank you to Collier Township for hosting a fantastic Veterans Day brunch.  At least 70 residents who served in the U.S. military were treated to great food and a thoughtful gift bag courtesy of community businesses and organizations. Thank you all for your service!

Findlay Township hosted a wonderful Veterans Day lunch to honor those who served. While at the event they served BBQ, played trivia, and shared stories and memories from their time in the service.

Upper St. Clair hosted a moving ceremony to recognize local veterans. Thank you to everyone who attended to recognize and honor these heroes.

Robert Morris University (RMU) hosted a celebration on Veterans Day honoring those who served. RMU’s Center for Veterans and Military Families is open to all veterans, service members, and their families. Thank you for your continued support of the military community.

Ensuring U.S. and Pennsylvania Flags Are Made in America

All Pennsylvania and U.S. flags purchased by the commonwealth for public display will be made in the United States under legislation approved by the Senate. Senate Bill 784, which requires the flags to be labeled with “Made in the USA,” was sent to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Expanding Eligibility for Free Hunting Licenses for Disabled Veterans

Legislation to expand eligibility for free Pennsylvania hunting licenses to veterans who are 100% disabled due to service-connected injuries outside of combat was recently introduced. Senate Bill 1020 provides discounted $1 hunting licenses to veterans who are partially disabled due to injuries incurred through training, non-combat operations, peacetime duties or other hazardous activities.
