HARRISBURG – State Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39) to serve on the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
“I am honored to receive this appointment and thankful to President Pro Tempore Ward for entrusting me to serve among the wide range of criminal justice experts,” Robinson stated. “Last session, I was proud to sponsor legislation that created a local law enforcement grant focused on officer retention and recruitment, training expansion and equipment updates, leading to safer neighborhoods and less crime. I remain dedicated to finding solutions for issues related to community safety and those who serve to protect us, and I look forward to serving on the commission.”
The PCCD is chaired by the attorney general and includes public officials, judges, law enforcement officials and private citizens who make recommendations to the governor and General Assembly regarding criminal justice issues. The commission works to support crime victims, enhance law enforcement and empower communities by leading advocacy efforts for safe schools, providing technological and information-sharing tools and launching evidence-based innovative criminal justice programs.
“Across the Commonwealth, Pennsylvanians are experiencing increased crime in their communities despite having strong laws on the books to fight crime,” said Ward. “Sen. Robinson recognizes this is a very real trend that should be taken seriously and has displayed a commitment to his constituents to respond to these concerns by advancing policies that support and empower law enforcement to do their jobs and ensure residents feel safe in their communities, which is why he is a great choice to serve on the PCCD.”
Robinson will serve on the PCCD through Nov. 30, 2024.
