Robinson’s Max Manufacturing Initiative Act Unanimously Approved by Senate Committee

HARRISBURG – Legislation sponsored by Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) to improve Pennsylvania infrastructure through collaboration and innovation was approved unanimously today by the Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee.

Senate Bill 497 establishes the Max Manufacturing Initiative Act, which provides grant and loan opportunities to eligible applicants engaged in advanced manufacturing.

This bill will allow state universities to more easily partner with engineering entities to enhance research capabilities, promote business alliances, produce high-value products, and create well-paying jobs.

“The Max Manufacturing Initiative Act has the potential to establish our Commonwealth and its university and business partnerships as international leaders in the development, testing and implementation of cutting-edge advances in science and technology,” Robinson said. “I am so pleased my colleagues provided strong, bipartisan support for this legislation, and I look forward to seeing it progress in the legislature.”

Senate Bill 497 now moves to the full Senate for consideration.
