HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) has awarded a grant to Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. in Bridgeville, Allegheny County, to provide 50 laptops, announced Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37).
The grant will enhance digital connectivity for students and educators, helping them access essential tools for learning and career preparation.
“Technology is a critical resource for shaping the next generation of leaders,” said Robinson. “This grant will empower Junior Achievement to continue its mission of inspiring young people and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in today’s world.”
The grants were awarded through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Digital Connectivity Technology Program. Organizations were required to demonstrate that affordability is a key barrier to broadband adoption to compete for funding from the program’s $20 million allocation statewide.
The PBDA operates as an independent agency within the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The PBDA is responsible for developing a statewide broadband plan and distributing federal and state funds to expand broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas across Pennsylvania.
