HARRISBURG – Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) was officially sworn in today for his second term in the Pennsylvania State Senate. Robinson continues to represent the 37th Senatorial District, encompassing parts of Allegheny County.
“I am deeply honored to once again have the trust and support of the people of the 37th District. Serving our community in the Pennsylvania Senate is a privilege, and I’m ready to continue working hard to deliver results,” Robinson said. “During the past term, I’ve truly enjoyed spending time in every corner of our district, meeting so many incredible people and hearing their concerns and ideas. These conversations inspire the work I bring back to Harrisburg, and I look forward to building on our progress together. Thank you for this opportunity – you can count on me to keep fighting for you every step of the way.”
Born and raised in Brookline, Robinson graduated from Central Catholic High School before embarking on a path of distinguished service. Upholding a family legacy of military dedication spanning four generations, Robinson joined the United States Marine Corps following graduation.
After the Sept. 11 attacks, Robinson volunteered for infantry duty, placing himself at the forefront of combat operations. He completed three tours of duty — one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. His service included intense engagements in Nasiriyah (known as “Ambush Alley”), where his unit conducted critical missions leading to the rescue of Army POW Jessica Lynch, and in Fallujah during some of the conflict’s fiercest battles.
Following his honorable discharge, Robinson returned to Pittsburgh, where he founded Veterans Medical Technology, a company dedicated to supporting health care innovation. He also pursued higher education, earning a business degree from Robert Morris University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
In the Senate, Robinson has been a vocal advocate for legislation focused on lowering taxes and reforming the tax code, supporting small businesses and expanding opportunities in manufacturing and labor. He is a steadfast champion of veterans, first responders and law enforcement, as well as a strong proponent of improving access to quality health care. He’s successfully sponsored nine bills that have been signed into law, 12 House versions, and brought nearly $75 million in state funding to the region.
Robinson was instrumental in opposing PennDOT’s controversial bridge tolling plan which would have imposed tolls on key infrastructure across the state. His legislative leadership and persistent advocacy helped halt the initiative permanently.
In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Robinson chaired the Labor and Industry Committee and serves as vice chair of the Law and Justice Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Banking and Insurance, Community, Economic, and Recreational Development, Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, and Local Government committees.
Beyond his legislative duties, Robinson is deeply committed to supporting veterans and their families through involvement in numerous service organizations and charitable initiatives across southwestern Pennsylvania.
Robinson has two district offices ready to assist constituents. For more information, visit www.senatorrobinson.com.
