HARRISBURG – Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) and Pennsylvania House of Representative colleagues announced today the approval of Multimodal Transportation Fund grants for four key infrastructure projects to enhance transportation safety, connectivity and economic growth in the region.
“I am thrilled to see this funding awarded for projects in my district,” said Robinson. “The Multimodal Transportation Fund supports critical infrastructure needs across the commonwealth, and I am eager to see the positive effects this funding will have in our region.”
Municipality of Bethel Park will receive $258,625 for construction upgrades at the intersection of Kings School and Library roads.
“Safety is paramount, and the Kings School Road and Library Road intersection is heavily traveled by both vehicles and pedestrians. In addition, there is a railway intersection nearby,” Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-40) said. “I am glad to see these upgrades occur, and I appreciate the opportunity to work with Sen. Robinson to advance this project.”
Ben Avon Heights Borough will receive $250,000 for a sidewalk installation project along Canterbury Road.
“Keeping residents safe and the community of Ben Avon Heights connected are priorities I’m proud to help bring to fruition with these dollars,” said Rep. Arvind Venkat (D-30). “Thank you to Sen. Devlin Robinson for his collaboration on this bipartisan effort to improve local infrastructure.”
Pleasant Hills Borough will receive $496,082 for roadway improvements to East Bruceton Road and Winifred Drive, a critical project for the borough, according to Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-39).
“I’m pleased to support this important project,” Kuzma said. “The traffic at this intersection has significantly increased. These improvements will help with traffic flow.”
Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-46) echoed Robinson’s support for South Fayette Township receiving $130,000 for trail improvements to the township’s Panhandle Trail.
“I am excited to see funding for the Panhandle Trail project,” Ortitay said. “This initiative will not only address critical repairs, but also enhance safety and improve the trail experience for all members of our community.”
The grants were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through its Multimodal Transportation Fund, which supports projects that ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation for Pennsylvania residents.
