WHAT: Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) will host a press conference with Sens. Vincent Hughes (D-7) and Steve Santarsiero (D-10) to mark the Senate’s approval of their legislation implementing a bell-to-bell ban on student cellphone use during the school day.
Senate Bill 1014 creates a consistent statewide standard: students may not use cellphones during the school day. The bill aims to reduce classroom distractions, boost academic performance and address growing concerns about youth mental health and social development.
