HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania women who served in the United States Armed Forces are encouraged to register by May 8 for a state Capitol ceremony honoring their service, according to Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37).
The fourth annual Women Veterans Day Commemoration will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 11:30 a.m. in the main rotunda of the Pennsylvania state Capitol in Harrisburg
Women veterans across the commonwealth are invited to submit entries for a display featuring each participant’s likeness alongside a personal reflection on “What Service Means to Me.”
“As a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, I am familiar with the extraordinary service and sacrifice of Pennsylvania’s women veterans,” said Robinson. “Their bravery, resilience, and contributions to our nation’s military deserve recognition and celebration, and I commend my colleague, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick – a U.S Army combat veteran – for organizing this event to pay special tribute to all Pennsylvania women veterans.”
In advance of the in-person ceremony, a virtual display will be accessible online beginning June 8 at the website of the event’s host, SenatorPennycuick.com. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 8. To submit a biography and be featured in the display, click here.
