Robinson Announces $3.5 Million in State Funding for Economic Development Projects

state assistance for local projects

HARRISBURG — Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) announced $3.5 million in state funding has been awarded to four local improvement projects.

“These projects will have a lasting impact on our region by improving infrastructure, supporting employers, and creating an environment where businesses can continue to invest and grow,” Robinson said. “I appreciate the collaboration of our local partners and elected officials who worked to secure this funding, and I look forward to seeing these projects move forward.”

Projects receiving funding include:

  • North Allegheny School District – $1.25 million to renovate its aquatics center, including system upgrades, a facility expansion with a dedicated diving well, increased spectator seating, and expanded locker rooms to keep school facilities separate from community use spaces
  • Leetsdale Industrial Park – $1 million for the installation of a new fire protection system. The project includes construction of a fire pump, fire mains throughout the park, and upgraded service connections to existing buildings.
  • Achieva Support – $750,000 to renovate Achieva’s Bridgeville pallet and packaging facility. The project will redesign the interior to improve operational efficiency and accessibility while upgrading lighting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and dust collection equipment. Renovations also include ADA-compliant restroom improvements, updated manufacturing and office spaces, and exterior façade and landscaping enhancements.
  • The Wolfe Companies LLC – $500,000 to continue modernization of a new gift card manufacturing facility. The project includes significant construction upgrades, electrical improvements, demolition of outdated infrastructure, installation of a truck loading port, and office improvements to support expanded manufacturing operations.

The funding was awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget and provides grants for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are intended to have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact while generating or sustaining economic activity, employment, and tax revenue.
