HARRISBURG — Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) announced several projects across the 37th Senatorial District were awarded more than $3.5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority today.
“From public safety and emergency response to parks, infrastructure, and essential services, this funding will help local communities address important needs and improve the quality of life for the people who live and work here. I’m very proud to support these projects and appreciate the hard work and dedication that local leaders pour into our townships and municipalities,” said Robinson. “I also want to thank my colleagues in the House of Representatives for joining me in helping bring these important state resources back to our communities: Reps. Daniel Deasy (D-27), Jeremy Shaffer (R-28), Arvind Venkat (D-30), Andrew Kuzma (R-39), Natalie Mihalek (R-40), Jen Mazzocco (D-42), Valerie Gaydos (R-44), Anita Astorino Kulik (D-45), and Jason Ortitay (R-46).”
The following projects were funded:
- Allegheny County Redevelopment Authority — $639,271 — for the installation of a perimeter fence and associated improvements around 100 interior acres of Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s 460-acre property in North Fayette Township.
- Bell Acres Borough — $33,673 — to complete a geotechnical engineering exploration of a landslide along Sevin Road.
- Bethel Park Municipality — $52,195 — to upgrade the lighting control systems at three municipal parks.
- Findlay Township Municipal Authority — $500,000 — for infrastructure improvements and expansion at the Potato Garden Wastewater Treatment Plant.
- Franklin Park Borough — $102,698 — to purchase a multipurpose patrol vehicle for the Franklin Park Police Department.
- Heidelberg Borough — $85,000 — for the purchase of three police vehicles.
- Leetsdale Borough — $91,300 — to purchase a top-loader leaf recycling vacuum to replace the failing old equipment.
- Marshall Township — $524,410 — to construct a sensory garden and additional parking at Altmyer Park.
- Pleasant Hills Borough — $250,000 — to replace and upgrade the athletic field lighting systems serving four fields at Mowry Park.
- Robinson Township — $546,693 — to construct a new pool house at the Clever Park Pool.
- South Fayette Township Municipal Authority — $441,000 — for the purchase of a camera truck and associated equipment for routine inspection of sanitary and storm sewers.
- Upper St. Clair Township — $253,043 — for the purchase of an emergency medical response vehicle for Tri-Community South EMS.
The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.
