HARRISBURG – Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) announced that Bethel Park, North Fayette Township and South Fayette Townships will receive grant funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Green-Light-Go Program.
Green-Light-Go grant funding is provided as reimbursement to municipalities to improve safety, mobility, and the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.
“I am thrilled to see this funding secured for the improvement of our infrastructure and the wellbeing of our pedestrians and drivers,” Robinson said.
Projects being funded through the Green-Light-Go Program include:
- Municipality of Bethel Park: $41,280 to replace antiquated pedestrian signal equipment at Oxford Drive & Home Depot Driveway/UPMC South Driveway and Oxford Drive and Alicia Drive;
- North Fayette Township: $158,480 for updated signal equipment at Steubenville Pike (SR 3066) & Oakdale Road (SR 3063)/Mahoney Road;
- South Fayette Township: $313,130 for updated signal equipment at Washington Pike & Twin Ponds Lane.
Funding Announced for South Park, South Fayette School Districts
South Park School District and South Fayette School District will receive grant funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education under the Disability Inclusive Curriculum Pilot Program. This program promotes classroom instruction about the social, political, and historical contributions of people with disabilities. A maximum of $10,000 per year is available to each school entity, and funds are distributed over a three-year period.
“This funding will help foster a positive environment in our classrooms, and I am pleased to see the schools in my district benefit from this program,” Robinson said.
