HARRISBURG – Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) today announced more than $3.5 million in Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) funding is being awarded for local projects.
“These projects are being funded by state dollars that are returning to the district and being utilized toward the enjoyment and safety of our community,” Robinson said. “I am pleased to assist in the securing of these funds, and I look forward to seeing the projects come to fruition.”
The Borough of Rosslyn Farms is receiving $195,100 of the CFA’s Greenway, Trails and Recreation funds for the initial phase of its Parrish Park Playground Rehabilitation Project. The project will include the removal of existing play equipment and vegetation, grading and drainage work and will address utility issues within the park. Additionally, a new retaining wall, steps and playground barrier fence will be built to meet new playground design and grade requirements.
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is receiving $139,801 of the CFA’s Orphan or Abandoned Well Plugging funds for an oil and gas well closure located on the Toms Run Nature Reserve in Kilbuck Township. The nature reserve is free to the public and enjoyed by neighbors and hunters. Plugging the well will enable the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to market the nature reserve as a destination for those seeking forests, wildlife and solitude, while eliminating any potential risk to public health and safety.
