HARRISBURG — Community colleges across in Pennsylvania will see a 6% – or $15,698,000 – increase in funding in the 2024-25 fiscal year budget, according to Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37).
“Community colleges are vital to the next generation of Pennsylvania’s workforce and economy, and I was honored to advocate for them,” Robinson said. “As co-chair of the Senate Community College Caucus, I’m pleased to see my colleagues on both sides of the aisle come together to make this investment in our students.”
Pennsylvania’s 15 community colleges serve more than 245,000 students and are the largest provider of post-secondary education and workforce training in the commonwealth.
The 2024-45 budget also increased K-12 education funding by more than $1 billion, provided new funding for the Basic Education subsidy and the Ready to Learn Grant program, and increased funding for special education, school safety and security and mental health, career and technical education, and CTE equipment grants.
