First Responder Appreciation Stair Climb & Recruitment Event with Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-40)
September 11, 2026 | Spencer Family YMCA Bethel Park
Rep. Natalie Mihalek and I sponsored a First Responder Appreciation Stair Climb and Recruitment at the Spencer Family YMCA Bethel Park to honor the brave men and women who responded on Sept. 11, 2001. Event attendees completed various exercises designed to simulate the courageous actions of the heroes on that day, and the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company shared details of volunteer opportunities to support recruitment.

Mine Subsidence Seminar with Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-39)

Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-39) and I hosted a Mine Subsidence Seminar to inform community members about the Mine Subsidence Insurance (MSI) Fund, a non-profit insurance fund administered by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). According to the MSI Fund webpage, millions of structures in Pennsylvania are located over old, abandoned underground coal and clay mines.
MSI pays for losses from unanticipated earth movement related to abandoned underground mines. It covers damage from the collapse of underground coal and clay mines in Pennsylvania.
DEP offers this coverage because homeowner’s insurance usually does not include it. I’m grateful to the representative from DEP who joined us for this event – he did a great job explaining the insurance available to constituents for properties affected by mine subsidence.

Placard and Plate Event with Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-40)

Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-40) and I hosted a Plate and Placard event where our staffers helped constituents replace their hard-to-read license plates, renew retired registrations, and apply for handicap placards. Thank you to the Upper St. Clair Police Department for their help with the event!

Senior Resource Session with Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-44)

Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-44) hosted a Senior Resource Session at the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire Department where our staff was able to help constituents with Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications, Pittsburgh Regional Transit Senior ConnectCard applications, and submitting for unclaimed property from the PA Treasury Department.

National Healthy Kids Day with Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-44)

Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-44) and I participated in the 2026 Sewickley Valley YMCA National Healthy Kids Day event. This family-focused event featured hands-on activities with organizations like the National Aviary, Kamin Science Center, and Fern Hollow Nature Center to promote overall health for our children. There was face painting, a bounce house, gaga ball, a digital safety presentation for families sponsored by the Sewickley Police Department, and much more!
Rep. Gaydos and I were happy to provide various resources to families about how to improve their health and well-being, and information about how Pennsylvania state government works and how our offices can help.

Identity Theft Prevention & Document Shredding Event with Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-39)

Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-39) and I hosted an Identity Theft Prevention & Document Shredding Event at South Park High School where we were able to securely dispose of more than 100 boxes of residents’ sensitive documents at no cost to attendees.
