Clark Testing Enhances its Customer Facing Capabilities with State-of-the-Art Equipment

Pittsburgh, PA – Clark Testing announces the successful commissioning of its new Spectral Dynamics SD-44000LS3-650 Electrodynamic Vibration Shaker System at its Pittsburgh headquarters and dynamic test laboratory. This installation represents one of the largest electrodynamic vibration systems on the Eastern Seaboard and significantly expands the company’s complement of testing services including high-frequency vibration testing capabilities.

The SD-44000 enhances Clark’s ability to support product development engineers and system designers with advanced vibration simulation in accordance with key Defense, Transportation and Industrial test standards, including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, RTCA DO-160, IEC 61373, and EN 50155/50122.

“This investment represents more than just equipment. It’s a strategic step forward. By adding the shaker table to our mix, we’re positioning ourselves to reach new markets, serve a broader range of customers, and drive the next phase of our growth, said Paul Heffernan, Clark Testing CEO.

Designed to induce precise, high-frequency vibration profiles, the system enables validation of component integrity, simulation of harsh operating environments, and accelerated life-cycle testing. These capabilities support growth in critical industries such as Defense, Rail, Power Generation, Automotive, and Aerospace where product reliability under extreme conditions is essential.

This strategic capital investment was completed in collaboration with Allegheny Strategy Partners (ASP). With the backing of Pennsylvania State Senator Devlin Robinson, Clark was able to procure a $500,000 grant from the PA Department of Economic and Community Development to support funding of the shaker system. The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission supported the acquisition with a financing vehicle.

“Adding this piece of cutting-edge equipment to the Clark Testing campus will only enhance their abilities to service their impressive roster of existing clients, as well as reach new markets across various industries and create jobs,” said Senator Devlin Robinson.
