I’m so proud to have worked with my colleagues on the Ireland Trade Commission (ITC) to bring this incredible opportunity to our city! The ITC was established through legislation I sponsored last year, and since then, our Commonwealth has seen tangible results from its success - including this announcement from Aer Lingus.
This flight will unite Pittsburgh and Ireland, solidifying the strong economic and trade ties between our communities.
Thanks to my friend Maj. General John R. Pippy @tagofpa for helping us honor veterans during the holiday season by delivering a meaningful keynote address at Pennsylvania’s @wreathsacrossamerica ceremony at the PA Capitol yesterday.
Today, @wreathsacrossamerica joined us at the PA Capitol to ceremoniously lay a wreath and kick off National Wreaths Across America Day taking place this Saturday, Dec. 13 at thousands of locations nationwide. Millions of wreaths will be placed on veterans’ headstones across PA, the country, abroad, and at sea to remember and honor their service to our nation.

Each year on Dec. 7, we remember the 2,403 service members and civilians killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941. A further 1,178 people were injured in the attack, which permanently sank two U.S. Navy battleships and destroyed 188 aircraft.
We remember not just the surprise attack, but the steely resolve of Americans to do whatever it took to defeat the Axis forces of World War II.
I’m so proud that this year’s budget maintained funding for Western Pennsylvania’s Urban Search and Rescue operations! These brave men and women put their lives on the line during emergencies, and I`m glad our budget ensures they have the resources they need. Recently, I was so proud to honor the many involved in the Charleroi trench collapse where they rescued a man who was trapped for hours; situations like this remind us of just how crucial this funding is.
Thank you to @chubbglobal , @wastemanagement , and @ussteelcorp for the extremely generous donation to the Bridge Education Foundation. This gift will fund school scholarships for many families throughout our region!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the PA State Capitol 🎄 The massive 25-foot Douglas fir from Crystal Spring Tree Farm in East Lehighton, Carbon County has arrived! Thank you to everyone who helped decorate the tree with handmade ornaments from all across PA!
It was great to meet NFL star Greg Lloyd Jr. and NFL Hall of Famer Champ Bailey at the State Capitol recently. Joined by former Pittsburgh Steeler, Verron Haynes, they came to Harrisburg to provide an overview of PA’s medical marijuana program and insights into how other states are structuring and refining their programs to better serve their citizens.
Thank you @achieva for presenting @senpisciottano and me with the Excellence in Government award! Achieva’s work to support and empower individuals with disabilities in our community is lifechanging for those they serve, and I’m proud to support them in Harrisburg through legislative initiatives that level the playing field for disabled individuals and veterans.
